Stone The Crow (US slang for surprise) was founded by four guys from South Germany at the beginning of 1996. Their stage experience and first demos were already being noticed by record labels in 1997 and received the VIVA Clip Attack Award in spring 1998.

Their debut album ”Daylight” showed the group's capabilities by using melodic but straight guitars, an original voice part and unusual samples and beats. They showed the world that they are ready for more and could get to the top of the German rock league. Since then they have done numerous live gigs, including headliner tours and festivals. Currently they have a brand new album titled “Year Of The Crow”.

This very homogenous album is dued to the perfect production work with producer Moses Schneider (Inchtabokatables). “Moses just knew how we wanted to combine the guitars with electronic music” says Marc. “He put the volume to 12 if he likes to which is something not every producer would do.” It was partly recorded in the band's home studio at Schwäbisch Hall and at the Horus Soundstudios in Hanover. The vocal parts and some samples were recorded in New York, Transporterraum before remixer Jem (Guano Apes, Reamonn, Liquido) completed the production work.

Stone The Crow has improved and developed a lot since their early days. ”We wanted to create harder stuff and add some harder tunes to our slower and softer songs” explains singer Marc Zin. “Year Of The Crow” shows more and the various sides of the band than their debut did. This is what Marc Zin (vocals), Hilli (guitar), Tom Schenk (bass, programming) and Kai Ortmann (drums) achieved by their second album. “In One”, the first single of the album, is a very straight but melodic song. Catchy vocals, full guitars, subtle beats and samples make an impression to the listener. “In One” is about the band’s experience and reflection of the last years. “It is not only about reaching a certain point, more important is how to reach it. And we do everything to move on.”
